Systems Analyst responsible for project estimation and system design for local telephone service order processing and customer profile systems. Developed XML schema documents (XSD) using XMLSPY tool.

Responsible for Production Support of various systems for maintaining customer profile information and processing orders for competitive local telephone service. Managed up to 12 people including call analysts, systems analysts, software developers, configuration managers and release coordinators. The system is based on the Next, HP/UX and Dec Alpha (Digital UNIX) platforms, supports multiple order entry sites and is distributed across three data centers. Also responsible for Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance and Graphic User Interface (GUI) software development using Forte, Oracle Web Application Server and Javascript, C language programming and Korn Shell programming accessing an Oracle database.

Led a development team that built an integrated email and document database software product based on 3 tier client server transaction processing architecture. Developed F77, Microsoft Fortran, Pascal, Assembler and C software. Invented a secure method for Dial SMTP messaging (MS Exchange to SENDMAIL).

  • Our software products generated license fees up to $2 million/year and over $60 million/year of processing revenue.
  • Planned and implemented of outsourcing legacy system software maintenance and support to an Asian Indian contracting firm.
  • Introduced SEI CMM and ISO 9001 process improvements (e.g. prototyping, version control, code reviews, independent Quality Assurance team).

  • Invented multiprocessing technique for a Hotel Reservation system that used a minicomputer front-end communicating to a mainframe host over a wide area network (WAN) that reduced order entry time by 25%.
