1997-Present	Verizon Business (MCI, MCI-Worldcom) Chantilly, VA. Manager - Sr. Staff Specialist - Sr. Software Systems Engineer Software Quality Assurance Tester responsible for Sun/Solaris, Apache/Tomcat and Oracle 10 G configuration and application testing. Systems Analyst responsible for project estimation and system design for local telephone service order processing and customer profile systems. Developed XML schema documents (XSD) using XMLSPY tool. Responsible for Production Support of various systems for maintaining customer profile information and processing orders for competitive local telephone service. Managed up to 12 people including call analysts, systems analysts, software developers, configuration managers and release coordinators. The system is based on the Next, HP/UX and Dec Alpha (Digital UNIX) platforms, supports multiple order entry sites and is distributed across three data centers. Also responsible for Year 2000 (Y2K) compliance and Graphic User Interface (GUI) software development using Forte, Oracle Web Application Server and Javascript, C language programming and Korn Shell programming accessing an Oracle database.
1988 - 1997	GXS (was called GEIS) Rockville, MD. Programmer - Manager *- Consultant* Managed teams of 3-19 employees and contractors. Responsible for software development for 3 PC, Macintosh and Mainframe software products. Led a development team that built an integrated email and document database software product based on 3 tier client server transaction processing architecture. Developed F77, Microsoft Fortran, Pascal, Assembler and C software. Invented a secure method for Dial SMTP messaging (MS Exchange to SENDMAIL). Our software products generated license fees up to $2 million/year and over $60 million/year of processing revenue. Planned and implemented of outsourcing legacy system software maintenance and support to an Asian Indian contracting firm. Introduced SEI CMM and ISO 9001 process improvements (e.g. prototyping, version control, code reviews, independent Quality Assurance team).
1986 - 1988	GXS (was called GEIS) Dearborn, MI. Technical Support Specialist Responsible for pre and post sales support, including analysis, demonstrations, proposals, implementation and training support. Performed sales and implementation support for an international electronic mail and document database system for a major pizza franchiser. Implemented 600 international users in 9 months. Supported and implemented electronic mail, EDI and value added network services.
1979 - 1986	GXS (was called GEIS) Oakbrook, IL. Programmer - Senior Applications Specialist Responsible for mainframe and minicomputer software development. Lead programmer for an International Order Processing project team of 17 people. Project was delivered on time and on budget. Software generated $150K/month processing revenue. Invented multiprocessing technique for a Hotel Reservation system that used a minicomputer front-end communicating to a mainframe host over a wide area network (WAN) that reduced order entry time by 25%.
EDUCATION	Georgia Institute Of Technology Atlanta, Georgia Bachelor of Engineering Economic Systems, with minors in Management, and Technology Forecasting and Assessment. This degree combined a traditional Industrial Engineering program with a Management program.
